Photoshop (CS3) ~ Lining up Images

If you are creating a repeated pattern or even designing a layout for a website and have several images you would like to line up, you need to select the layer of the image then on the Menu bar along the top, go to Layer > Smart Objects > Convert to Smart Object. You will have to do this for each layer/image that you wish to line up accordingly.

Next go to View on the main menu bar > Show > Smart Guides, and make sure it is ticked to Snap.

Now when you move the layers you previously converted to Smart Objects, you will notice that a series of pink lines will show up on the workspace in relation to the nearest, other, Smart Object - basically guide lines. This will enable you to place you text, buttons, pictures, whatever it is you will to line up, perfectly without having to guess :)
